Bombproof Clinic

Have you ever been out on the trail, enjoying your ride and a plastic bag comes along and ruins it all? Or does your horse tend to shy away from the table of fluttering ribbons at the out gate?

Don't fret, these things don't have to rule your horse's mind and ruin your ride. You simply have to teach your horse how to think through these obstacles, rather than fear them. Once they understand that they can trust you to guide them safely through these obstacles, their fear response will lessen and their bond with you will be strengthened.

Join us the weekend of May 18-19th for our Spring Bombproof Clinic to witness the transformation for yourself! We are offering 2 sessions each day and you are free to sign up for any or all sessions in which you would like to participate:

Morning (Walk-Through) Session: 10:00 am - Noon, $38 (FCHRAcademy Boarders $28)

  • Walk your horse through each of the obstacle stations, build their trust in you while our clinicians teach you how to teach your horse to respond positively in each situation.

Afternoon (Riding) Session: 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm, $58 (FCHRAcademy Boarders $48)

  • Now it's time to saddle up and approach the obstacles horseback! (If your horse is particularly spooky or worried about unfamiliar objects, we highly recommend taking part in a walking session prior to this session.)

Space is limited to 12 horses per session, so be sure to reserve your spot early!

Learn to Feed your Steed! - An Equine Nutrition Clinic

  • Front and Center Horse Riding Academy (map)

Join FCHRAcademy as we host Equine Nutrition Specialist Natalie Shaw from Wilco/Purina for an afternoon of education and advice!

Natalie Shaw has been employed as an Equine Nutrition Specialist since graduating from Montana State University with an equine specialty in Animal Science. Her lifelong activities with horses coupled with her 11 years of consulting experience in the Pacific Northwest has given her a thorough understanding of regional equine nutritional needs. She achieved the industry’s Professional Animal Scientist (Equine) certification in 2013.

Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Science degree from Washington State University. Her studies include a thesis based research project to understand the growing and harvesting effects on the non-structural carbohydrate values of teff hay. Her passion for this topic grew from a recognition of a pressing need for options to feed the growing number of overweight and obese horses.

Natalie is an accomplished equestrian and well-respected speaker. She is a graduate A in the United States Pony Club, and a current National Examiner traveling the country to certify its members. She is an active competitor in the sport of Three Day Eventing giving her a unique personal touch to her nutrition recommendations.

This free clinic will offer eight, one-on-one sessions to discuss your horse's individual needs.

Space is limited, so sign up below!
